1981:
Starts his first band, SANAGI with his high school-mates, and drops out the high school.

1983:
SANAGI participates in a compilation album, "Reggae Crush".

1984:
Joins an avant-gard pop band, NOIZUNZURI that plays Japanese traditional songs.

1985:
NOIZUNZURI releases the 1st album "H0-YO".

1986:
Starts BOREDOMS with EYE YAMATSUKA and IKUO TAKETANI but right after the release of the 1st 7", "Anal By Anal", TABATA quits BOREDOMS. NOIZUNZURI release the 2nd album. meets KK NULL in Tokyo.

1987:
Quits NOIZUNZURI and starts his leading band LENINGRAD BLUES MACHINE. Joins ZENI GEVA.

1988-95:
All the while with ZENI GEVA, TABATA is also doing various side projects like HAKAIDERS, and collaborations such as with JON, TATSUYA YOSHIDA (RUINS), VIOLENT ONSEN GEISHA.

1996-97:
Starts his own solo recordings and releases two 7" and participates in a few compilations.

1998:
Releases his 1st solo album, "Brainsville" on Elsie & Jack Recordings. Reunions LENINGRAD BLUES MACHINE with MASUDA (ex RUINS) & WATANABE (ex-MARBLE SHEEP & THE RUNDOWN SUN'S CHILDREN). Strats juazz-noise unit, GUGAN with KK NULL.

1999-2001:
Collaborates with HOPPY KAMIYAMA, starts MONSTER DVD with KK NULL, and ZENI GEVA release "10,000 Light Years" album.
